Good to know
What happens to custom fields during export?
When you export your audience from Mailchimp, all custom fields (e.g., names, tags, preferences) are included in the CSV file by default. You can review and select specific fields during the export process if needed. This ensures that your data is fully preserved and ready for import into Waitless.
Can I export a specific segment of my audience?
Yes, Mailchimp allows you to export specific segments based on criteria such as tags, location, or purchase behavior. To do this, create a segment within your audience, view its contacts, and select the Export Segment option. This is useful if you only want to migrate a subset of your subscribers.
Will Mailchimp notify my subscribers when I export their data?
No, Mailchimp does not send any notifications to your subscribers when you export their data. The process is entirely internal and secure, ensuring that your audience remains unaware of the migration.
What should I do if my exported CSV is missing data?
If some fields are missing in your CSV file, double-check the selected fields during the export process. Mailchimp allows customization of export fields, so ensure you’ve included everything you need. If issues persist, Mailchimp’s support page provides additional troubleshooting tips.
Is there a limit to how many subscribers I can export at once?
Mailchimp does not impose strict limits on export size, but very large audiences might take longer to process. If you encounter delays or errors, consider exporting smaller segments or using Mailchimp’s API for larger datasets.
